About the Public Tour
Join us in England's number one covered market for an experience you'll never forget.
Your local guide / personal air raid warden will take you on a unique tour from the origins of Bristol's trading past, through the terrifying nights of the Blitz, into the swinging 60's and onto the city's vibrant present.

Public Tours run at 11am on Thursdays. 11am and 2pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Enjoy behind the scenes access to the Corn Exchange, the city's most important building! Explore subterranean passageways, roof top vistas, rooms which once rocked to the best bands in the world and of course, our spectacular Air Raid Shelter!
The first half of your tour is spent discovering the historic alleyways of the old town and learning about the origins of the city. For the second half we head beneath the streets to explore our air raid shelter and enjoy Bristol's only subterranean experience!
Subterranean Tour!
Subterranean Tour!
A time capsule beneath the streets!
Hidden beneath the Corn Exchange (Bristol's most important building) lies Bristol's biggest public Air Raid shelter. A time capsule which has been left untouched since the 1940's.
Explore Bristol's only surviving Air Raid Shelter with our trusty local Wardens!
We offer the only way to see behind the scenes of the most important building in town and beneath the streets of Bristol's most historic area.
Film and T.V
Enjoy exclusive access to areas seen in Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Who and which are still used in film and T.V productions today!
Rock 'n' Roll
Discover the building's fascinating role in the 1960's music scene and see backstage areas where the Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin once hung out and the rooms in which they once performed.
Once you've been fascinated and amazed, you'll be spoilt for choice with places to eat, drink and pick up the best local gifts to take back as a lasting reminder of your stay in Bristol.
The jewel in our crown has to be our Air Raid Shelter which remains a complete
time capsule hidden beneath the streets!
See original drawings which were made during the Blitz!
Remember to keep a look out for Margaret our friendly ghost!
